What is Title I?
Title I is the largest federally funded education program. Title I provides highly qualified staff in reading and math, money for additional instructional materials and supplies, parent assistants, improved staff development, parent workshops, etc. Title I also provides Grandview with extra days of counseling services. Title I programs are designed to improve teaching and learning in reading and math for low achieving students in high poverty schools so they can meet challenging academic content and performance standards. Funds are allocated based on the percentage of students eligible for free or reduced lunch. Title I services at Grandview help all students achieve more.
